I am a Christian
I am a Christian. I asked Jesus to come into my life and was baptized. I did this when I was around 16 or 17 years old. Looking back now, I know that I wasn’t really saved. It takes more than that to really be saved. It is true that one must call on the name of Jesus and profess him to be the son of God to be saved, but there really is much more involved. To be saved, one must be, “engaged” to Jesus Christ and perform all of the contractual obligations that it entails.
Let’s say that you lived 2000 years ago and that you were a young woman of marring age. And let’s say that your father comes to you one day and tells you that he decided that you were ready to be betrothed to a young man in a neighboring town. What would you do? You might be excited. You might be uncertain about your future with this man mostly because you don’t know him. Keeping in mind that the engagement might take as long as a year; what would a cunning young woman do under these circumstances? She would do what any smart young lady today would do; she would find out everything that she could about her betrothed. The reason for this study and exploration is that she wants to have a good life with her soon to be husband. She would want to please him after they are married and living with together. The relationship that I have with Jesus is like this, and I strongly believe that if a person is to call himself a “Christian” he should have the same kind of desire.
So, with this basic idea of Christianity stated I feel that my personal walk with Jesus leads me to share with others some of the things of God that I have found over the years.
These are some of the topics that I will discuss on the pages of Swordswords.com :
